US West Coast Friendly - 2x

The rules are clearly outlined here and any violation will get you banned.

No Racism, Sexism, Toxicity, Griefing, or Groups larger than 3!
All rules enforced by admins are based on evidence, context, and your attitude on this server, so if you’re anti-social, or an asshole, chances are you won’t have any wiggle room to explain yourself. Unless the violation of a rule is blatant and obvious, you will have a chance to explain yourself as admin decisions are final. Keep in mind, admins are here as a courtesy to the players, so don't be disrespectful!

PvP and K.O.S
(Killing On Sight)

The unprovoked killing of other players is not allowed and will get you kicked or banned, (Except in authorized PvP areas).

PvP is allowed outside of PvP areas, but players must provide warning(s) via In-game text chat (recommended), or In-Game voice chat.

Warnings must be obvious and directed towards the targeted player. (“Whoever’s in the tower at trainyard, leave or you will be shot.” OR “That airdrop is mine, stay away or you will be shot”) This rule is designed to prevent unprovoked ambushes or taking advantage of new players.

Announced PvP can occur anywhere on the map except "Safezones" like Outpost and the Casino in Bandit Camp as long as it is prefaced by a warning. Blanket warnings ("I'm killing anyone at any airdrop today.") are not valid.

Warnings are intended to allow players to avoid or prepare for a fight.

If ample warning has been provided with no response, go ahead and attack.

If a player is immediately near your base, tell them to leave before you defend your property.

If someone is attempting to steal your Horse or Vehicle, you may open fire as long as the vehicle/horse is obviously within your building privilege zone. (Vehicles decay faster while inside building privilege, so park them close at your own risk.)

If a player was sneaking around your base and is running away, post-warning or not, you may not attack them after they are out of turret range.

Group Size

The maximum size of a group is 3. This includes alliances with other players/groups and sleepers.

Team members may leave their teams for personal reasons (disagreements within the team), or for the sole purpose of helping a new player learn the game. Helping others learn is highly encouraged.

I mention this because I don't want people switching teams over and over again to try and get around the 4 player limit.

PvP Monuments

Unannounced PvP is allowed at both Large and Small Oil Rig ONLY!

You are considered inside the PVP zone of these monuments when you can no longer build. (Monument building blocked zone) This is not an obvious border, so don't push it.

I still ask that a warning be provided while in a PvP monument, but it's not required here.

Raiding

No door camping!

Raids are part of Rust and are encouraged. "Raiding" on this server is defined as; The forced entry of a structure by any destructive means. This includes breaking twig structures.

No raiding during the first 2 real-time days of a wipe. (Even if the whole base is made of twig.)

The rest of wipe day (Thursday) through Saturday, are all considered to be "The first 2 days of a wipe".

Raiding is allowed after 6:00pm PST, Saturday evening (2 days after wipe).

If a base is left open, (No roof or open doors) anyone may enter and loot unlocked storage items as this is not a raid. Placing ladders to enter/exit is fine. If you break something, technically, you're raiding.

During a raid, the rules against K.O.S. don’t apply to those participating in defense, offense, or counter-raiding.

If you’re being raided, you are allowed to retaliate with anything you have at your disposal.

Door camping is only allowed as a raid DEFENSE tactic which may be used by base owners, or raiders defending from counter-raiders. (This does not apply to “Going Deep” style raids, which aren’t allowed.) Griefing is not allowed.

While it is common practice to break a tool cupboard and leave, we ask that you replace it, leave it unlocked, and if you can afford it, leave some resources to prevent the base from decaying. This is not a rule, just a courtesy. This will not be enforced.

Counter-Raiding

Counter raiding is when someone not involved in the raid shows up to attack those involved in the raid.

(Group A is raiding Group B. Someone from Group C shows up and kills Group A to take the explosives/loot from them.)

Counter raiders MUST complete the raid they countered. This prevents multiple groups from working together as a clan, as well as preventing unnecessary K.O.S. from false “counter raiders”.

Unless you own the base, you cannot defend it. You may watch the raid, but assisting either party is forbidden. Commentary or reconnaissance counts as assistance.

If you decide to counter raid, the raid is only complete when you either run out of explosives or finish the raid (empty or break the tool cupboard) and claim the loot.

You may not kill raiders, take their loot/gear and then just leave.

You may not door camp raiders outside their own base. (Following them back to their base when they go back to rearm/resupply, and camping that base.)

Griefing

Griefing will get you banned.

Griefing is defined as; Preventing the owner(s) of a base from accessing their base or TC. Examples are;

Blowing through doors for a raid and replacing them with locked doors of your own. (The exception to this being, leaving a key or code for the locks on the body of the base owner) Placing a wooden sign on an interior wall with the door code is fine. If there's a bed from the original owner, you may rename it with the new door code. Ex. "2245 Door Code".

If your raid kills the base owner, you are not allowed to place doors or locks at all because there will be no body on which to place the key/code.

Building a wall surrounding the Tool Cupboard to prevent all access to it, causing the base to decay.

Building High External walls around a base to prevent players from leaving/entering.

It is not considered griefing if you claim and continue to play out of the base you raided. This would be considered repurposing and is totally fine.

Building

Occasionally, the "stability" mechanic will be turned off. Check the server banner to find out whether "stability" is active or not. For the most part, there are no building restrictions except;

If you find an island that does not contain a monument, (Caves don’t count as monuments) you are more than welcome to wall off the entire island for yourself, as this is a large target for other players.

Do not build a wall across significant portions of the map. (This includes blocking large monuments such as Train station, Dome, Launch site, or Water Treatment Plant, etc...

)

Auto turrets placed outside a base, or placed so they fire outside a base are permitted. They do not need to be placed on "peacekeeper", so be careful when walking near someone else's base.

Turrets placed near shops (vending machines), however, MUST be put on peacekeeper. This means that if you put a shop inside the building privilege zone of your base, all exterior turrets must be set to "Peacekeeper".

Raid Challenges and Admin builds

Admin(s) build bases as raid challenges as a fun way to interact with players. Admins will spawn in items/vehicles/loot...Bears... from time to time. These are never used negatively against players.

The loot inside a raid challenge is put there as a reward and should be used/guarded as such.

The raid challenge is the ONLY time players may work together in groups larger than 4, as long as everyone participating is content with the division of loot.

Raid challenges contain vending machines to broadcast their locations to everyone. Please check the map to find out when the challenges are ready. (Ex. “Raid challenge EMPTY”)

Tool Cupboards are hidden to prevent players from abusing the extremely large stacks of resources.

Players are allowed to use any and all loot obtained from raid challenges however they like, as long as they follow all other server rules.

Arenas/Coliseums are for public use and therefore are not considered “Raid Challenges”.

Do not try to raid Le Shop or other public use builds such as Heli-towers.

Players are more than welcome to build their own shops near the Admin built "Le Shop"; however player built shops are not protected from the Raid Ban.

Admins have a sense of humor and will, occasionally, HARMLESSLY mess with players. For example, while players are flying helicopters around the map, admins may fly (noclip) past the helicopter in an attempt to confuse the pilot, or while a player is running, an admin may drop out of the sky in front of said player. This is what I mean by "harmless". This server is meant to be fun, so enjoy it!
